London is one of the most fascinating cities in the world. Founded by the Romans, it’s quintessentially British yet has an international flavor. I can’t help but want to go back and discover more.
Montería is an inland city in Colombia’s Caribbean region and the capital of the department of Córdoba. It’s the ranching capital of Colombia and the home of the sombrero vueltiao, a national symbol. There’s really not much of interest to tourists, but we found it to be clean and friendly with lots of good restaurants.
One of the highlights of Santa Marta is paying a quick visit to the Carlos “El Pibe” Valderrama monument, which is located a bit out of the way of the historic city center. It’s the most visited monument in the city.
My first visits to Detroit were for hockey or baseball games only. I rarely took the time to go sightseeing or visit some of the city’s great museums. When my brother got married there in December 2018, I took a few extra days to get to know the city better and I liked what I saw.
Walking from Central Kadıköy or Moda towards Fenerbahçe, you’ll pass Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium (Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadyumu). It’s the home of the Fenerbahçe football club and contains a museum and gift shop.
Beşiktaş Stadium (Beşiktaş Stadyumu), currently known as Tüpraş Stadium for sponsorship purposes, is the home ground of the Beşiktaş football club. It’s located in the Dolmabahçe area of Istanbul, Turkey,
Nashville is the capital of Tennessee and known as the Music City because of its reputation as a musical center. There is lots to see and do, great nightlife and entertainment, good food, and I’ve found it to be a friendly place.
It took me no less than a day to fall in love with Seattle. The Emerald City is not only beautiful, it has character in its several interesting neighborhoods along with great food and music. A starting point to the Klondike Gold Rush, Seattle also has an intriguing history.
It’s obvious Gary has seen better days. One of the best (or worst) examples of urban blight in America, this once beautiful but tough city is, sadly, better known for its high crime rate than its past. Both of my parents were born and grew up in Gary, and both moved out in the late 1970s. Every time we drive through together, it evokes wonderful memories along with sadness to see what their hometown has become.
What can I say about Las Vegas that hasn’t already been said? With its rise from small desert outpost to mafia gambling center to the entertainment capital of the world, this city of bright lights and nonstop action wows everyone that sets foot on the iconic Strip. It can bring you to life or eat you alive, but no matter your tastes, it’ll leave you wanting more.
