The historic town center of Lorica, a Colombian Heritage Town (Pueblo Patrimonio), is full of interesting buildings. This post covers all highlights outside the riverwalk (malecón) and Public Market.
The Public Market (Mercado Público) is the most iconic building in the Colombian Heritage Town (Pueblo Patrimonio) of Lorica. It’s located along the Sinú River in the historic town center.
One of the best ways to see Lorica is to stroll along the riverwalk (malecón) on the Sinú River. There, you’ll get the best views of this Colombian Heritage Town (Pueblo Patrimonio) and see some of the Middle Eastern influence on the town.
Cereté is an inland city in Colombia’s Caribbean region, a short drive north of Montería. There’s no reason for tourists to visit. We passed through Cereté to visit a friend.
La Ronda del Sinú is a public park in the city of Montería, Colombia. It runs between the Sinú River and the city center for about 20 blocks, making it the longest lineal park in Latin America. It was our favorite attraction in the city by far.
The city center of Montería doesn’t exactly have much to see in the way of tourism. Outside of the Ronda del Sinú, you can focus solely on the main plaza.
During our two days in Montería, we were able to try a few different restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised with what we found.
Montería is an inland city in Colombia’s Caribbean region and the capital of the department of Córdoba. It’s the ranching capital of Colombia and the home of the sombrero vueltiao, a national symbol. There’s really not much of interest to tourists, but we found it to be clean and friendly with lots of good restaurants.
