The Queens Garden Trail is one of the most popular trails at Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. It takes visitors down into the famed Bryce Amphitheater from Sunrise Point.

Trail Options

The trail is 1.8 miles round-trip and is the easiest descent into the amphitheater. Hikers can either  walk back up the way they came, complete a loop that ends at Sunset Point, or continue to the Navajo Loop like I did. The Navajo Loop also ends at Sunset Point.

The Trail

I really enjoyed the Queens Garden Trail and the Navajo Loop. It’s not a difficult trail at all, and there’s some incredible scenery to be found as the trail winds in and out of the hoodoos.

There’s a short spur trail to a hoodoo that supposedly looks like Queen Victoria on her throne. I didn’t see it, so I guess my imagination wasn’t working that day.

Continuing to Navajo Loop

While several people turned around and went back up to Sunrise Point, I continued along the trail until I reached the bottom of the amphitheater. From there, I walked along a dried up creek and through a forest until I reached the junction with the Navajo Loop Trail.
