El Paso is a border city in the western part of Texas. It’s not the most beautiful or friendliest city I’ve ever been to, but it’s a historic place with a lot to see and do.
Truth or Consequences is a small city in New Mexico featuring natural hot springs. There are also plenty of opportunities for recreational activities in the area. We spent a night there in order to enjoy the hot springs, but also had plenty of time to explore the city.
Albuquerque is an interesting city to spend a couple days. There are some great museums, important historic sites, and plenty of cultural activities. It also makes a great base for excursions to natural places and smaller towns.
Santa Fe, the capital of New Mexico, is one of the gems of the Southwest. It has an incredible mix of history and culture, and makes a great base for visiting other destinations nearby.

Taos is a wonderful tourist destination in northern New Mexico. It has a little bit of something for everyone.
Ojo Caliente is an unincorporated community in northern New Mexico famous for its hot springs. It’s located between Española and Taos, and not too far from Santa Fe.
Bandelier National Monument is a great place for both solitude and archaeology lovers. It protects a beautiful canyon in New Mexico and several Native American dwellings and petroglyphs. It’s named for Adolph Bandelier, a Swiss-born archaeologist who researched the cultures of the area.
Known for its relaxing hot springs and beautiful natural setting, the small town of Jemez Springs, New Mexico, makes for a great day trip destination from nearby Albuquerque. It’s also a pleasant place to spend some extra time.
Chaco Culture National Historical Park, located in northwest New Mexico, protects several Ancestral Puebloan great houses populated between 850 and 1250. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
