Mampay is a touristic finca about a half hour from the center of Mistrató, a town in Colombia’s Coffee Region. It offers a multitude of activities in a gorgeous mountain setting.

A group of Marisol’s coworkers planned an afternoon at Mampay. It’s a rough road getting there and our final obstacle was crossing a river at the entrance.

Lunch

Once at Mampay, we had a decent lunch in the restaurant. I had pork while Marisol had fried mojarra. All meals are served with rice, salad, soup, and a patacón. They also offer trout from their trout farm. Meals were reasonably priced.

Activities

After lunch, we wandered the grounds. Visitors have the opportunity to go horseback riding, fishing, climb into a treehouse, check out the trout farm, or take a small trail up a hill.

We decided to take the trail. From the top, there were fantastic views of the valley.

Conclusion

Overall, we weren’t too impressed with Mampay. The climate is much cooler than in Mistrató and the views are nice, but it’s not spectacular enough to make it worth going out of the way for. On top of that, my food came out cold while Marisol’s fish was fried too much.
