The Four Corners Monument is a monument marking the point where the borders of Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico meet. It’s the only place in the United States where four states meet at one point. Navajo Nation maintains the monument as a tourist attraction.

Admission

A US$8 per person admission fee is charged to visit the monument (as of August 2023), payable with a credit card only. Once there, you’ll find several souvenir stands and some snack bars.

The monument contains a concrete circle with the seal of each state embedded into the ground. The flags of each state fly high above. Visitors have the chance to straddle the borders in order to be in all four states at once.

In the center of the monument is the official border marker placed by the US Department of the Interior. A historical marker nearby explains how the border was formed.

My Opinion

The Four Corners Monument is a total tourist trap and in my opinion not worth the admission fee. It’s an overpriced and overhyped novelty that seems fun and amusing, but in the end it’s a waste of time and money.
