Austin is a fantastic city to visit. It’s got a great vibe with amazing live music, good barbecue, and plenty of cultural attractions. It’s a shame I only had one full day to enjoy it, but I love what I saw and will definitely be back one day.
San Antonio is a fun city in Texas. Unfortunately, we only spent two nights and a full day there so I don’t have much to report as far as basic info. I’m looking forward to going back one day to see more.
Roswell, New Mexico, is one of those places that initially comes off cheesy and only for UFO conspiracy lovers. In reality, it’s much more than aliens and UFOs.
Albuquerque is an interesting city to spend a couple days. There are some great museums, important historic sites, and plenty of cultural activities. It also makes a great base for excursions to natural places and smaller towns.
Santa Fe, the capital of New Mexico, is one of the gems of the Southwest. It has an incredible mix of history and culture, and makes a great base for visiting other destinations nearby.
Taos is a wonderful tourist destination in northern New Mexico. It has a little bit of something for everyone.
Salt Lake City is the capital of Utah, the headquarters of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a great base for outdoor recreation. Although we only spent a day downtown, we spent five days in the Salt Lake City area and used it as a base for several short day trips.
