If you’re looking for a hidden gem in Utah, Kodachrome Basin State Park fits the bill. This small state park is overshadowed by nearby Bryce Canyon National Park, but it’s worth a visit if you’re in the area.
Anasazi State Park Museum is a museum and Ancestral Puebloan archaeological site. It’s located in Boulder, Utah, along Scenic Byway 12.
Edge of the Cedars State Park Museum, located in Blanding, Utah, is a museum and Native American archaeological site.
Dead Horse Point State Park provides some of the most dramatic views in Utah. It’s located near the entrance to Canyonlands National Park’s Island in the Sky district and also not too far from Arches National Park and the town of Moab.
We couldn’t visit Salt Lake City without seeing the Great Salt Lake. We decided to make a day trip out to Antelope Island State Park. The park has miles of hiking, camping, and beaches on the lake as well as a historic ranch. There are also plenty of opportunities for birdwatching and spotting wildlife.
The Loop Road is a 70 mile scenic drive that begins and ends in Lander, Wyoming. We drove a portion of the road one late morning.

I didn’t get much of a chance to wander around Natal because I was too sick to do anything, but it’s a great place to spend some time. My trip to the city is incomplete and I’d like to go back to properly experience it.
I spent a lot of time with the people I met in the hostel on Ilhabela, bonding after the bank robbery our first night. Ben, a Canadian, and Esmee and Julie, from Holland, went on a jeep tour with me to a nice beach on the Atlantic side of the island.
