Kingman is a small city along historic Route 66 in Arizona. We made a quick stop there while passing through on our way to the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park.
Located on the border of California and Nevada, Primm offers the first casinos for those traveling into Nevada (or the last casinos for those leaving).
Beatty is a small town a couple hours northwest of Las Vegas. As the eastern gateway to Death Valley National Park and decent accommodation options, it makes a good base for visiting the park. There are some Wild West style buildings and a couple minor attractions in town as well as places to get fuel and supplies.

Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park preserves what’s left of the oldest building in the city and tells the story of its first settlers.
St. George is a city in southwest Utah. It has a few interesting places to visit in town and can be used as a base for Zion National Park. The Red Cliffs National Conservation Area is also nearby.
