Firavitoba is a small town in Boyacá, Colombia. It’s an agricultural town with nothing to offer tourists other than a couple beautiful plazas. We passed through on our way from Paipa to Lake Tota.

Main Plaza

The main plaza is full of trees and features a memorial to townspeople who served in the Korean War.

The most important building on the plaza is the church, Our Lady of the Snows (Nuestra Señora de las Nieves). It was built between 1873 and 1937. The church was damaged in a 1995 earthquake and restored in 2009.

To the right of the church is a nicely constructed modern building. On the south side of the plaza is the Casa de la Cultura, which has two murals of locals performing the traditional crafts of the town.

Second Plaza

The second plaza in Firavitoba is connected by a path containing a few monuments and memorials. The plaza itself is a large open space with a few trees in the center.
