Located on the border of California and Nevada, Primm offers the first casinos for those traveling into Nevada (or the last casinos for those leaving).
Whiskey Pete’s Casino
Why make Primm a stop? Whiskey Pete’s Casino claims to have on display the very car in which legendary gangsters Bonnie and Clyde were gunned down. They were killed on May 23, 1934, in Bienville Parish, Louisiana. (Update: the exhibit containing the car was moved to the nearby Primm Valley Resort in February 2022).
If that’s not enough, they also have the shirt Clyde was wearing at the time as well as other memorabilia related to the pair.
Dutch Schultz’s 1931 Lincoln adds to the casino’s collection. It was built with bulletproof doors and inch thick glass. After Schultz was murdered in 1935, the car was used by Al Capone’s gang. It was later seized by the Chicago Police and sold at auction.
Finally, a wall on the casino titled “How Vegas was ‘Made'” gives a timeline of mob influence and event in Las Vegas history.
Other Casinos
The other two casinos in Primm are Buffalo Bill’s and Primm Valley Resort. It also has a branch of the Mad Greek Café (permanently closed) if you missed the one in Baker.
