Kyiv Pechersk Lavra

Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, founded in 1051, is an Orthodox cave monastery and a collection of several historic green and white churches with golden domes. It’s divided into two sections: Upper Lavra and Lower Lavra. It’s also inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site along with St. Sophia Cathedral.

Admission

The fee structure for Kyiv Pechersk Lavra has gotten very complicated since my visit. From the most recent information I can find, admission to the grounds only without visiting any exhibitions is ₴80 and admission on a guided tour is ₴120 (as of December 2023). Check the website for current fees and see what works best for you.

As a comparison to current prices, when I visited, it cost ₴50 for the full experience (entrance to all churches and exhibits, not guided) and an extra ₴100 for a photo pass (it was well worth it to take photos inside the churches).

Getting There

To get there, you can take the metro to Arsenalna. The Dnipro stop also works but makes the trip a bit more difficult.
