Most visitors in Istanbul will pass through Kabataş at one point or another. It’s a busy transportation hub located between Fındıklı and Dolmabahçe. There’s not much to see in the area other than a couple historic fountains.
Breathtaking Barichara, one of Colombia’s Heritage Towns (Pueblos Patrimonio), is a great place to get away from it all. In fact, Barichara means “place of rest” in the indigenous Guane language. This small, quiet town founded on January 25, 1705, has everything you need to unwind.
San Gil is Colombia’s extreme sports capital. It was founded in 1689. While it isn’t the most beautiful city to stay in, there are plenty of things nearby to see and do that make it a worthwhile destination.
San Andrés is a Caribbean island that belongs to Colombia. It sits about 500 miles north of the mainland and while you’re on Colombian soil, you won’t feel like you’re in Colombia (except for tourists from the mainland). You’re more likely to hear reggae than reggaeton and Creole and English spoken by natives rather than Spanish.
Montgomery is the capital of Alabama and has a surprising amount of things to see and do. Whether you’re on the Civil Rights trail or Civil War trail, or just looking for some Southern culture, Montgomery makes a great choice.

Honestly, I think it’s been ruined with all the development, but there have been a few positive changes.
As a wedding gift, my friend Tim bought us a train ride from Seattle to Chicago on the Amtrak Empire Builder line. We had been visiting Tim for a week after flying out from Chicago, and he said the train would be a great experience for me and Marisol.
The Paradise area of Mount Rainier National Park in Washington was named by James Longmire’s daughter, who upon seeing it exclaimed “Oh, what a paradise!”. It’s a fitting name, as there aren’t many places in the country as beautiful.
It took me no less than a day to fall in love with Seattle. The Emerald City is not only beautiful, it has character in its several interesting neighborhoods along with great food and music. A starting point to the Klondike Gold Rush, Seattle also has an intriguing history.
