The main reason to visit Chimayó is the Santuario de Chimayó, which is the most important Catholic pilgrimage site in the United States. It’s located in northern New Mexico.
Española is a small city in northern New Mexico. It’s located a short drive from both Los Alamos and Santa Fe. We didn’t spend too much time in town, using it more as a base to visit Los Alamos and a few other nearby places.
Williams is a town on historic Route 66 in Arizona and the gateway to the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. We spent a night there en route to the Grand Canyon.
Located on the border of California and Nevada, Primm offers the first casinos for those traveling into Nevada (or the last casinos for those leaving).
Downtown Denver is home to many offices and skyscrapers, but it also has a great cultural, entertainment, and shopping district. 16th Street Mall and LoDo (Lower Downtown) are the hot areas.
Every Labor Day weekend, Denver hosts A Taste of Colorado at Civic Center Park. This food festival also features live music, rides, games, shopping, and more. Admission is free and it’s a fun event to attend as summer comes to a close.
