The Little Calumet River Trail is one of the best trails at Indiana Dunes National Park. It’s located near Bailly Homestead and Chellberg Farm in Porter, Indiana.
The Heron Rookery Trail at Indiana Dunes National Park follows a portion of the Little Calumet River. The main east parking lot is located in Michigan City while the west parking lot is in Chesterton.
Pinhook Bog is quite possibly the most interesting section of Indiana Dunes National Park. It’s got an incredible natural history and outstanding plant biodiversity. Pinhook Bog was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1965 – a year before the park was established.

The Tolleston Dunes area of Indiana Dunes National Park features a trail and overlook. It’s located south of West Beach, just to the east of County Line Road along US Highway 12, in Ogden Dunes, Indiana.
The Great Marsh Trail at Indiana Dunes National Park gives hikers views of the largest wetland complex in the Lake Michigan watershed. It’s located in the town of Beverly Shores.
Dune Ridge Trail at Indiana Dunes National Park takes hikers through a diverse set of habitats in a short amount of time. It’s located in Beverly Shores, just south of Kemil Beach and the Century of Progress Homes.
Dunn’s Bridge County Park sits at the southern border of Porter and Jasper Counties in Northwest Indiana. The park contains a unique and historic bridge with an interesting and mysterious story behind it.
