Van is an interesting city in Eastern Anatolia famous for its traditional breakfasts. It sits on the eastern shore of Lake Van and has a few good places to visit.
Akdamar Island (Akdamar Adası) is the second largest island in Lake Van, located in Eastern Anatolia. It’s home to a historic 10th century Armenian cathedral.
Göreme Open Air Museum (Göreme Açık Hava Müzesi) is one of the most incredible places to visit in Cappadocia, Turkey. It’s in the heart of UNESCO World Heritage listed Göreme Historical National Park (Göreme Tarihî Milli Parkı) and only a few minutes from the town of Göreme.
Mustafapaşa is located in the Cappadocia region of Turkey. This town with Greek origins has transformed itself into a touristic destination.
Keşlik Monastery (Keşlik Manastırı) is a cave monastery complex in Cappadocia, Turkey. It sits a short drive south of Ürgüp.
Zeyrek is one of the most interesting neighborhoods in Istanbul. It’s located in the Fatih district and contains some important Byzantine structures.
Perhaps the least visited of the Princes’ Islands in Istanbul is Burgazada. For this reason, it’s also my favorite.

Heybeliada is the second biggest of the Princes’ Islands in Istanbul. It makes for a nice, relaxing day trip from the bustling and chaotic mainland.
