The small town of Apía sits high in the mountains of Colombia’s Coffee Region. It’s part of the UNESCO World Heritage listed Coffee Cultural Landscape of Colombia and a pleasant off the beaten path place to visit.
The Beşiktaş neighborhood is the heart of the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul. It’s a busy transportation hub with a few museums in the area. There are also some minor historic attractions.
Busy Aksaray isn’t my favorite area of Istanbul. While it’s not dangerous, this neighborhood in the Fatih district does have a seedy reputation.
Gülhane Park (Gülhane Parkı) is one of the oldest and largest public parks in Istanbul. It’s a peaceful place that’s beautiful to visit any time of year.
Sidyma (Σίδυμα) was an ancient Lycian town in what is now the small village of Dodurga in Turkey. The ruins are scattered throughout the village.
Dalyan is a small resort town in the Mediterranean region of Turkey. It’s a great place to base yourself for a relaxing holiday.
The Bozburun Peninsula sits between the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas in southwest Turkey. It’s home to numerous coves and a few small towns and villages.
The entire Datça Peninsula is full of quiet little seaside villages, beautiful coves, and ancient ruins to explore. It’s still relatively undiscovered and a fantastic place to get away from it all.
