Macon is a city in central Georgia with plenty to keep you busy for a day or two. As the birthplace or hometown of several great musicians, it’s a good place for music lovers. History and architecture buffs will also enjoy what they find. Macon’s slogan is “where soul lives”.
You can’t miss the Bourbon Trail while visiting Kentucky, and the Jim Beam American Stillhouse in Clermont is a great place to start. The Beam family has been producing whiskey since 1795. The distillery is a short drive from Louisville.
Woodinville, a small town just a half hour from Seattle, has become a destination for wine enthusiasts. It makes a great day trip from Seattle combined with Snoqualmie Falls.
Majestic Mount Rainier National Park, located in Washington, is one of America’s finest. It makes a good day trip from Seattle, but I suggest sticking around for a few days.
Tiny Ashford, Washington, is just west of the main entrance to Mount Rainier National Park. It makes a great base for visiting the park if you don’t plan to stay within its boundaries.
