It’s no secret to anyone I know that I hate going to Navy Pier. To me, it’s the biggest tourist trap in Chicago, but because it’s an important landmark in the city, I feel obligated to write about it.
The Gold Coast of Chicago is one of the wealthiest areas in the city. It’s a historic district on the Near North Side comprised of a posh residential area and one of the city’s best entertainment and restaurant zones.
Cowles Bog is one of the most important areas of Indiana Dunes National Park. It’s located north of the Bailly Homestead and Chellberg Farm area.
The newest section of Indiana Dunes National Park is the Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk in Portage, Indiana. It opened in October 2008 and is a popular place to spot migrating birds.
The Century of Progress Homes are five homes built for the 1933 Chicago World’s Fair. The homes are located along West Lake Front Drive in Beverly Shores, which is surrounded by Indiana Dunes National Park on all sides.
Just under two hours from Panama City is Playa Santa Clara, a stretch of beach that development seems to have forgotten. With my group of friends, we rented a car, hopped in, and took the trip to this beach on the shores of the Pacific Ocean.

Getting to Playa Blanca from Cartagena is easy. All trips can be organized by your hotel or directly from the boat companies outside the docks.
On the morning of the second day of our tour to La Guajira, Pedro woke us up at 5am to start the journey to Punta Gallinas. We were taken from Cabo de la Vela to nearby Puerto Bolívar, an industrial area used for shipping. There really isn’t any reason to be there other than for the boats to Punta Gallinas.
