On a long drive from Clearwater, Florida, to Americus, Georgia, we decided to stop in Valdosta for a late lunch and a look around. The good thing was we enjoyed the quick walk around downtown. The bad thing was we were a bit late and everything was closed by the time we got there!

The Salvador Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida, is home to the largest collection of the artist’s works outside of Europe. It’s a wonderful place to spend a couple hours if you’re in town.
The historic Sponge Docks in Tarpon Springs, Florida, is a place where people can “visit Greece without leaving Florida”. It’s a place I make a point to visit every time I’m visiting family in Clearwater, although it’s been Disneyfied and doesn’t have the same authentic feel it once had. Still, it’s a great place to eat Greek food if you can get past the over-commercialization.
