At the top of the Palms in Las Vegas is Alizé, a Michelin starred restaurant serving contemporary French cuisine. It features a breathtaking view from the 56th floor, excellent service, and a huge wine list.
Jaleo is a tapas restaurant by Spanish chef José Andrés located at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. It features several traditional tapas dishes with a creative twist by the award-winning chef.
The Bellagio features a spectacle unlike any other on the Las Vegas Strip. Watching the dancing fountain spray water over 1,000 feet into the air, beautifully choreographed to music, is a must-see when visiting Vegas. Every show is different, so when you’re walking past the Bellagio and a crowd is gathering, find a good spot and enjoy!
When visiting Las Vegas, you can dine at some of the best restaurants in the world but be prepared to make reservations well ahead of your trip. Less expensive options are easy to find, such as in food courts in casinos and hotels, and a wide range of chain and fast food restaurants can be found scattered along the strip and elsewhere.
I’ve had the opportunity to stay at three different hotels in Las Vegas. I’ve stayed at two in the downtown area and one on the strip, on two separate trips. These are my thoughts on those three hotels:
What can I say about Las Vegas that hasn’t already been said? With its rise from small desert outpost to mafia gambling center to the entertainment capital of the world, this city of bright lights and nonstop action wows everyone that sets foot on the iconic Strip. It can bring you to life or eat you alive, but no matter your tastes, it’ll leave you wanting more.
The Mob Museum in Las Vegas is one of the most intriguing museums I’ve ever visited. Located in the former federal courthouse in downtown Vegas two blocks from Fremont Street, the museum tells the story of organized crime in America.
It’s hard to believe a city like Las Vegas has Mormon roots, but it’s true. On June 14, 1855, Mormon missionaries arrived to build a fort along a creek that flowed from Las Vegas Springs. Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park preserves what’s left of the oldest building in the city and tells the story of its first settlers.
