Tarlabaşı is a neighborhood in Istanbul west of Istiklal Street. It’s the most diverse area in the city as well as a notorious slum.
You’ll find a handful of decent museums along the length of Istiklal Street in Istanbul, Turkey. In this post, I’ll cover some of these museums starting at Taksim Square and working my way south to Tünel.
The eyesore on the northern shore of the Golden Horn in Istanbul was once the Ottoman Imperial Shipyard (Tersâne-i Âmire). It’s best seen riding on a Golden Horn ferry line.
Ayakapı is a small neighborhood on the southern shore of the Golden Horn in Istanbul. It’s located in the Fatih district between Fener and Cibali and is often skipped over by visitors to the city.
Cibali is a neighborhood on the southern shore of the Golden Horn in Istanbul opposite Kasımpaşa. It’s located in the Fatih district between Ayakapı and Küçükpazar.
Sarayburnu Park (Sarayburnu Parkı) is located at the eastern tip of the historic peninsula of Istanbul. It sits at the point where the Bosporus meets the Golden Horn and the Marmara Sea.
Paşalimanı is a small neighborhood on the Asian side of the Bosporus in Istanbul. It’s just a five-minute walk north of Üsküdar Square and sits between Üsküdar and Kuzguncuk.
Kuzguncuk is one of my favorite places to spend time in Istanbul. It’s a small village on the Asian side of the Bosporus between Paşalimanı and Beylerbeyi.
