Parque Santander is a park in the heart of the bustling city of Bucaramanga. It’s located a couple blocks south of Centennial Park and about eight blocks east of Parque García Rovira.

One of the best features of the colonial town of Girón, one of Colombia’s Heritage Towns (Pueblos Patrimonio), are the six stone bridges that span a creek just south of the Plaza Principal.
Other than the bridges and attractions in the Plaza Principal, there are a few more interesting things to see in Girón.

San Juan de Girón is a whitewashed colonial town just minutes from the bustling city of Bucaramanga. One of Colombia’s Heritage Towns (Pueblos Patrimonio), it’s a good place to get away from the city for a day and enjoy a quiet walk through history.
While on our way from La Dorada to Girón, we decided to break up the drive with a stop in Barrancabermeja to see the National Petroleum Museum (Museo Nacional del Petróleo), which is just outside the city. Unfortunately, the museum was closed but we were able to spend some time in the city itself.
