The Bryce Amphitheater is the main attraction at Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. It was created over millions of years of erosion, exposing pinnacles called hoodoos that are up to 200 feet high.

The Bryce Amphitheater is the largest of a series of amphitheaters in the park. It’s named for Ebenezer Bryce, an early Mormon pioneer who settled near the canyon in 1870.

Rim Trail

On the edge of the amphitheater is the Rim Trail, which runs 5.5 miles one-way. The trail is fairly level and provides phenomenal views.

We did a small portion of the Rim Trail from Sunset Point to Sunrise Point. It’s only a mile long and paved. Other sections of the trail take you to Inspiration Point and Bryce Point.

Into the Amphitheater

At Sunrise Point, it’s possible to go down into the amphitheater on the Queens Garden Trail. The Navajo Loop Trail starts at Sunset Point, but you can connect to it while on the Queens Garden Trail.
