Cheyenne is the capital of Wyoming and has a lot of good attractions, especially museums. It’s a friendly place with a small town feel and a touch of the Wild West.

Rodeway Inn (Permanently Closed)

We stayed at the Rodeway Inn on the north side of Cheyenne. It’s located near the Frontier Days rodeo area and a short drive from downtown. The room was big, clean, and comfortable. Wifi was ok. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was acceptable. The building has since been demolished.

Lunch at the Albany Restaurant

The Albany Restaurant was our lunch stop downtown. It’s family restaurant located right on Cheyenne Depot Plaza, across the street from Cheyenne Depot. They have very good sandwiches, burgers, and diner food. Our server was great – we walked in about 15 minutes before they closed for the afternoon and she still pushed our order through. There’s also a bar attached to the restaurant with a couple pool tables.

Dinner at China Buffet

Our dinner was at a China Buffet near the airport. It’s exactly what you’d expect from a China Buffet. I don’t need to comment further.

Delivery from Silver Mine Subs

We also had Silver Mine Subs deliver to our hotel the night we arrived. They sent over some good sandwiches at reasonable prices. The delivery was pretty fast, and they deliver until 3am if you need a late night meal.

Getting There

Cheyenne has a small regional airport with the majority of flights to Denver. The majority of visitors come by car. The city is at the junction of I-80 and I-25.
