I took a three hour cruise from Búzios that stopped at a few spots for swimming and went near Ilha Feia, a deserted island. It should cost about R$100 (as of June 2023) and there are a few companies offering the tour.

Leaving the Pier

The boat left from the pier near Orla Bardot in the town center. We waited for everyone to board and got going. The first point of interest was Ilha do Caboclo, a tiny little island that sits just off the pier.

Swimming Stops

We then started sailing along the coast towards our swimming stops, first past the main beach in Búzios, Canto Beach (Praia do Canto), and then to Tartaruga Beach (Praia da Tartaruga).

What I really thought was interesting was how at one of the swimming stops, a small boat pulled up to our boat and sold kebabs. There was nothing on the small boat but a grill and two men. One man was cooking while the other was selling the food.

Ilha Feia

When the other guests finished swimming (I didn’t swim), we went near Ilha Feia (Ugly Island), a rough uninhabited island with some small coves. I spotted one man with a kayak and a table sitting in a small cave on the island, which I though was interesting.

Ilha Branca

After a close encounter with a huge ship, we passed by Ilha Branca (White Island), another deserted island.

Beaches

Finally, before heading back to the pier, we passed by a few of the popular beaches in Búzios. They were João Fernandes Beach (Praia João Fernandes), Azeda Beach (Praia Azeda), and Ossos Beach (Praia dos Ossos).

Conclusion

It was a nice, short tour that everyone enjoyed. If I was swimming like the others, I would have preferred more time in the water than what was given. Other than that, being able to see Búzios from the sea was enjoyable.
