Near the airport and all the fine resorts in Sharm el-Sheikh is SOHO Square. It’s a huge upscale entertainment zone great for groups, couples, and families.
SOHO is located north of Na’ama Bay and near the airport. You’ll find restaurants, bars, shopping, live music, ice skating, bowling, movies, and more.
Our hotel manager told us we should visit SOHO because it’s a “great place”, so we arranged a tour there before heading to old Sharm el-Sheikh. Yes, it IS a great place – if you’re looking for something you could easily find at home. We could also find the same things in Na’ama Bay (minus ice skating and bowling). What’s the difference? All of the activities are simply more upscale and more expensive in the square.
Personally, I feel like it’s a place for people who go on vacation and are afraid to leave never leave their all-inclusive resort. It gives people like that a good reason to actually step foot off their resort. When you have the Red Sea, a beautiful desert, and a phenomenal national park, at your doorstep, I don’t understand the point of visiting a modern shopping area. To me, it’s nothing more than an expensive cultural desert in the actual desert.
