If you want the best views of Seattle without paying a ridiculous price to ride up an elevator, head to Kerry Park. Located on an upscale street in the Queen Anne neighborhood, the park is the perfect place to watch the sunset.

The Views

The park was given to the city in 1927 by Albert Sperry Kerry Sr. and his wife “so that all who stop here may enjoy this view”. It’s only 1.26 acres but includes several benches facing the skyline and a railing. The view has been featured on several television shows and movies. Also, the view is often used as a backdrop for news segments featuring Seattle.

Kerry Park is one of the few places where it’s possible to get a view of both the skyline and the Space Needle. On a clear day, you can even see a snow-capped Mount Rainier in the background.

Getting There

The best way to get there is to either walk up from the Lower Queen Anne neighborhood or ride in a taxi or Uber. We drove and had to park a few blocks away because all the parking spots near the park were full.
