After the Fiery Furnace, the next two stops along Arches Scenic Drive in Arches National Park are trails to two different arches.

Sand Dune Arch

An easy 0.3 mile round trip trail takes you between huge slits in giant sandstone rocks that give you an immediate escape from the scorching desert sun.

Once you’re between the rocks, the trail turns into a fine sand and leads to Sand Dune Arch. The trail is recommended for kids and I can easily see why.

The trail continues to Broken Arch, which can be seen from afar. It’s 1.3 miles round trip or two miles with the loop. We were running short on time and decided to move onto the next trail.

Skyline Arch

The next stop is Skyline Arch. A 0.4 mile round trip hike leads to the arch, which is easily visible from the road, but is much more impressive up close. I also enjoyed the small secluded section of desert where the arch is located.
