After we left Rocky Mountain National Park, we made a quick stop in the university city of Fort Collins, Colorado, on our way to Laramie, Wyoming.

The home of Colorado State University is a nice city for beer enthusiasts. There are lots of craft breweries to visit and some good restaurants around town. Fort Collins also pushes itself as a destination for outdoor recreation. Fishing, hiking, biking, and rafting are among the popular activities that can be found in the area.

Historic Downtown

In the pleasant historic downtown, we found a lot of nice buildings full of shops, restaurants, and more. Fort Collins was one of the models for Disney’s Main Street, USA.

I especially liked the pedestrianized Old Town Square, Linden Court, and Trimble Court area. It’s a block long brick path with brewpubs, restaurants, and shops on both sides, including the visitor center. The area was under construction.

There was also some interesting public art on display.

Conclusion

Although I didn’t find much of interest in Fort Collins, my assessment of the city is incomplete. I would like to spend an afternoon and evening there to visit some of the breweries and restaurants.
