Graffiti in Valpo

The UNESCO World Heritage listed port city of Valparaíso is the graffiti capital of Chile. It’s got some of the best street art in South America. The murals I saw scattered throughout  were very impressive. Some of them are easy to find, others are a bit out of the way. Many are not included here:

If you have some extra time and are interested in seeing more of this art, you can take a graffiti tour of Valparaíso with Valpo Street Art Tours. They’ve been running tours since 2011. They offer both free tip-based tours and paid tours, which can go to places that can be unsafe for tourists to visit alone. Free tours leave from Plaza Aníbal Pinto daily at 10:30am (except Sundays) and at 3:30pm. The paid tours are more in-depth and can be done on foot, in a vehicle, or you can even do a graffiti workshop. I didn’t have a chance to do the tour but I will on my next visit.
