There’s a place on the Asian side of Istanbul with phenomenal views of the city and the Bosporus. Not many tourists know about this place. It’s not easy to get to if you don’t know where you’re going, but well worth it if you make the effort. You’ll be rewarded with a relaxing few hours.
That place is called Büyük Çamlıca Tepesi (Big Pine Tree Hill), and it’s the highest point in the city. There are benches to sit and enjoy a very nicely decorated park.
As mentioned, the views of Istanbul are phenomenal. You can see the skyscrapers on the European side, the Bosporus, and the first bridge. It’s best to go on a clear day.
There’s also a good restaurant with decent prices located there along with a café.
There’s no admission charge and the easiest way to get there is by taxi from Üsküdar. It shouldn’t cost more than 20TL from there. For the more adventurous, take a bus from Üsküdar to Çamlıca or Turistik Çamlıca Caddesi and walk uphill about 15 minutes.
