The Turkish Quarter in Bozcaada Town is separated by a street from the Greek Quarter. Historically, the Turkish population of the island lived there.

Homes

In the Turkish Quarter, you’ll find another neighborhood full of nicely restored homes, many quite different architecturally from the Greek homes. There aren’t as many restaurants and boutique hotels as in the Greek Quarter, either.

Köprülü Mehmed Pasha Mosque

There are two historic mosques located on the Turkish side of town. The first is the Köprülü Mehmed Pasha Mosque (Köprülü Mehmet Paşa Camii), which was commissioned by Ottoman Grand Vizier Köprülü Mehmed Pasha (c. 1575-1661) and built around 1657. It sits on the site of an older mosque, the Mıhçı Mosque (Mıhçı Camii), which was destroyed during Venetian occupation the previous year. Today, the mosque is commonly known as the Yalı Mosque (Yalı Camii).
