Sinop’s seaside is a pleasant place to pass the time away. During my visit to the city, I enjoyed the south side of the peninsula around the harbor.
West of the city walls is the harbor. It’s a nice place to walk and also to get a delicious reasonably priced fish meal at one of the many restaurants that sit along it.
On the other side of the walls from the harbor is a seaside path called Aşıklar Caddesi. It’s a great place to walk day or night. The pedestrian road runs along the beautiful Barış Manço Parkı. If you walk all the way to the end there are lots of booths selling street food, crafts, souvenirs, and more along the way. It’s really a lively place to be.
From the western end of Aşıklar Caddesi, many boats offer short one hour cruises for just 5TL. The cruises are fun and you get to see Sinop from a different perspective.
A long pier between the harbor and Aşıklar Caddesi seems to be a popular place for locals to hang out. Many were fishing or just sitting and chatting. The views of the city are fantastic, especially at night.
